If you’re looking for a vet clinic where they see dying animals as a problem and grieving owners like an inconvenience, congrats — this is it.
I’m writing about how this clinic treated my aunt and her 15-year-old dog, who is in stage 6 heart failure. He’s dying. Slowly. Painfully. For almost a year, hydrocodone kept his coughing under control so he could breathe, sleep, and live a normal life His old vet may have been overpriced, but at least they understood that end-of-life care means comfort first.
This clinic? just wanted to take him out. They slashed his medication by 80% overnight. No taper. No warning. No conversation. No humanity. Just “here you go, good luck.” That’s not conservative medicine — that’s reckless, lazy, and cruel for a heart-failure patient.
Then came the prescription. Or whatever that scribbled joke was supposed to be. A Schedule II narcotic written like a grocery list on a sticky note. CVS refused to fill it because — shocker — it was missing almost everything legally required: DEA number, dosage instructions, quantity, proper formatting, full owner and pet info. Basic stuff. Day-one stuff.
When my aunt called to fix their screw-up, instead of owning it, the staff got sarcastic and defensive. Apparently, advocating for your dying dog and knowing federal prescription law makes you “difficult.” The receptionist actually accused her of “hounding” her — while my aunt’s dog was actively coughing himself breathless. and the staff saying “a doctor who’s been prescribing scripts for 50 years knows how to write one” clearly not maybe time to retire. or seems like your pretty bad at your job 50 years and can’t write a correct script they write an ILLEGAL one pathetic.
Imagine calling twice because your dog can’t breathe and being told you’re the problem.
Calling for help is not harassment. It’s desperation. It’s love. And if that makes your staff uncomfortable, maybe veterinary medicine isn’t the field for you.
If you want your pet treated like a burden, your grief dismissed, and your intelligence insulted, this clinic will do just fine. If you want actual end-of-life care from professionals who understand that “vet care” includes competence, empathy, and basic decency, go literally anywhere else
Until this place learns that dying animals are not inconveniences and grieving families are not enemies, my aunt will be taking her business elsewhere — along with her dog’s dignity, comfort, and final moments of peace.
PLEASE!!!! Don't take your pets there..This place is EXTREMELY ghetto and unprofessional and incompetent!!! They charged my friend an obscene amount of money! For NOTHING!!! Prescriptions were INCORRECT and to top it off had to take her sr. pet(her son of 15/16 yrs) to an emergency vet due to their negligence. Which cost her over 1,200 dollars..ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!!!
I don’t usually leave reviews, but what my sister went through at this vet broke my heart. She came in desperate to get medication for her senior dog , a dog who has given her years of love and loyalty and just needed medication for a cough caused by a heart problem. Instead of compassion or care, she was met with coldness.
The staff wouldn’t help her, even though they knew how much her dog was suffering. They treated her like she was a problem instead of a worried pet parent, even telling her she was badgering them when all she wanted was to make sure her old boy didn’t suffer.
It’s devastating to see people who claim to care about animals show no empathy at all. My sister left in tears, feeling helpless and judged and her dog still without the medication he needed. No one who truly loves animals should ever have to experience that kind of cruelty.
If you care about compassion and kindness, please think twice before trusting this place with your beloved pets.
