I cannot say enough great things about this practice. I adore the front office staff. All of the techs are knowledgeable and professional. The Doctors are incredible. I specifically want to give a shout out to Crystal at the front desk who has consistently been wonderful to work with. Even when I felt like I was calling almost daily as we were having a very difficult time working with pharmacies...etc, she never got annoyed with me. (Well she at least did not show it lol.) She and the rest of the staff were so kind to us when we recently had to put our dog to sleep. Showing sincere interest and care in how our family was coping. Let's take a moment to acknowledge Dr. Borkowski. I have owned many animals in my adult life, and having worked in the animal industry I have encountered numerous veterinarians and frequented many different practices throughout my career. Dr. Borkowski is hands down the most compassionate professional I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She listens, like truly listens. She would check in on us after hours to see how we and our dog were doing (this was towards his end of life when we were struggling with his decline.) She researched alternative treatment plans and consulted with colleagues. When we were still wanting to fight this super complex battle, she was up for the challenge and was with us every step of the way. When it came time for us to show him the mercy of letting him go, she sat on the floor with us and cried with us. This was not just another appointment or a "transaction" to her. She felt our pain, and she felt the pain of letting go of a patient that she truly worked so hard to help. She hugged us and really helped us to see that by letting go we were giving him a gift of peace. She did not have to go above and beyond for us. But she did, because she truly loves animals and she takes her occupation so seriously and cares so deeply for the animals she treats. As a side note, we also now bring our cats there. They just required an annual exam and vaccines. The tech was fantastic with Tommy and Lily. The cats both seemed very comfortable and not at all stressed like they had been in similar settings in the past. Again Dr. Borkowski was thorough and even though the office was extremely busy, she gave 100% of her attention to us during our appointment. The entire practice just runs so efficiently and even when it is busy, you never feel like you are getting shorted. When you are in that setting, with animals that are sometimes stressed or anxious, it is so important that the professionals remain calm and focused without losing their compassion. I realize this is very long winded but I felt it was necessary to truly capture the level of compassion and professionalism you will receive from this practice.

Great people and good prices. Easy to get an appt as needed. Everyone is very kind and good with my pup! Took her for an allergy shot, we were in and out in a flash!

Shiloh highly recommends Durham Veterinary Hospital. She had already been established elsewhere when we rescued her, but we weren’t happy there so we switched and came to Durham (where all of our other animals have gone) and haven’t regretted for a second. When the staff recognizes her walking in the door before we even check in and make her feel welcomed and loved it makes her happy. When she’s happy, I’m happy! We’ve never had a dog this calm at the vet, it’s a pleasure bringing her!

Always a great experience here. The staff is so professional and great with my 2 dogs - with one being very nervous to be at the vet. They answer all questions and take the time to explain all vaccines and/or tests that they would like to run.
