We are new to the pet world. Recently got a puppy Bernese mountain dog “Lilly” and went to MTCVH based on google reviews and were pleased with the doctor, staff, and everyone involved. Lilly loves it here. They are very professional and helpful and knowledgeable. We love that they do boarding because we feel comfortable leaving our puppy with them. They provide great service and care for Lilly.

Doc and his staff are amazing 🤩 Excellent care of my dog with compassion and communication!! An all around great experience !! Thank you for helping Ziggy get well 🙏🏻 update : Ziggy was injured and paralyzed BUT now he’s all fixed and back to normal thank you again for excellent care for little Ziggy ❤️🙏🏻

JUSTICE FOR JUNI First and foremost, i am thrilled for the people that have had a great experience at this place of business! Unfortunately, myself my doggie Junior, and mom and dad aren't those people. Junior is my first pet! I've lived in Manhattan. NYC for the majority of my adult life and I never took the leap in getting a dog because I traveled a lot with work. I never wanted to be like some people I know from the city that their dog knows the person that comes to walk them daily more than their owners. I always thought that is irresponsible. The Global Pandemic came and I moved to CT right as it was starting and I got my Junior. He was a gift, half Golden, half Lab, and the perfect mix of sweet and temperamental. Just like me, his Dad. We purchased a home in Monroe and after doing my due diligence, decided to go with David Basak-Smith ( if memory serves me well,the academic title of Dr comes from Latin docere or in English is TO TEACH) He does not deserve it. Justice for Juni Coming to. Court near you! Do not trust this man with your pets like i did. My Junior had a mass under his chin- lower lip and I didn't like how it looked so we had it removed. The lumpectomy surgery was done on Jan. 15th, 2025. We paid for the HISTOLOGY STANDARD to be sent to a lab to get tested THE HISTOLOGY STANDARD TEST IS TO DETERMINE IF THE MASS SHOWS MAKINGS OF TUMORS. Benign or Malignant I WAS TOLD TO CALL A WEEK AFTER SURGERY AND I DID. HE SAID ALL WAS FINE. Fast forward to Aug 2025. My Juni developed a cough so we took him Aug 18th and his temperature was checked and was fine and David had his stethoscope and checked his chest and said heart was fine and he squeezed his throat and Juni coughed and David said his heart sounded good and his lungs were clear. He prescribed Cipro, cough pils and probiotics! We gave one antibiotic and one pain for medicine and he spit it back up! We called and they made the appointment for Aug 26th. We gave back the medicine and we asked if injections could be done for my Juni. They gave him an injection that day and, my parents took him again for another injection of that Saturday Aug 30th and they charged us $55. Monday, Labor Day came and we saw no change in his health. Then I read up on dogs having something lodged in their throats because they were similar symptoms to what Junior was showing so We made an appointment for Thursday Sept 4. to have X Rays done to hopefully show he had something in his throat that was affecting him. The X Rays revealed my Juni had advanced tumors and basically he was going to pass away. We were devastated and gutted Around 3am morning of Sept 5. I remembered about the HISTOLOGY test we paid to have done so I looked in Juniors folder and I saw that I had the invoice for $2100.00 but no HISTOLOGY REPORT RESULTS. I called the office at 9am and one asked the receptionist if she could email me the HISTOLOGY REPORT BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE IT. She passed me to another person and i asked for the report. I was holding for nearly 6 minutes when a red flag went up in my mind and said to myself, something is wrong here. Then David Smith gets on the phone and asks me, "is everything OK." I said no my dog is dying and can you email me the histology report. His next words were and I quote, " ARE YOU GOING TO REPORT ME TO THE BOARD!" meaning The Veterinary Board of Medicine! He sent me Histology report and I was appalled! The report said the mass he poorly did surgery on has carcinoma signs and that it could metastasize without following treatment recommendations. IN CT IT IS ILLEGAL NOT TO GO OVER HISTOLOGY RESULTS WITH PET OWNERS! IT IS MANDATED BY LAW. THAT IS NEGLIGENCE!! Jan 15, 2025. Lumpectomy surgery to remove mass and HISTOLOGY TO BE DONE was told to call a week later I called a week later and was told everything was fine. Jan 20, 2025 Their office received the HISTOLOGY RESULTS Sept 4th. 2025 x revealed advance tumors Sept 5th, 2025 i received the histology results that said my dog would eventually cancer if not treated and the pathologist wrote treatment recommendations
