My family first used this vet when I was a young girl for our dachshund at the time. Years later, when I was old enough to have my first cat, I brought her here, and she has been going annually for the past four years. Now, my husband and I also bring our other cat and our puppy here as well. I cannot speak for everyone else’s experiences, but ours has always been pleasant, especially recently with our new puppy. They gave us a wealth of information, along with a puppy bag that included pamphlets, a flea and tick pill for six months free of charge, puppy treats, a folder, and a blue bow for our boy. They are quick, efficient, and helpful. I also think it is important for people to understand that this is a place for your annual pet check-up. They are not an ER. For what they do, they do it quite well. The reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because of one experience we had with a vet tech. I am unsure of her name, but when we brought one of our cats in, she was a little too personal for my comfort. She insisted on carrying the cat crate to and from the room and baby-talked my cat throughout the appointment. This may not bother everyone, but my husband and I found it a bit strange, and it made us uncomfortable.

Recently my dog was having issues making a bowel movement. And had issues for a few days. We called to request to be seen as soon as possible because we were now becoming concerned and wanted to take the next steps. They had no availability for over a week. Almost 9 days to be exact. This happened early last week. By Monday my dogs health started to decline. We had an appointment Tuesday but felt she really needed to be seen. Called about 10 times and was only met with constant ringing and a voice recorded prompt to continue to hold. Luckily piper emergency vet was able to see her as soon as i was able to get her there. Unfortunately she did end up passing. But i truly feel if Southington vet took our initial concerns serious my dog may still be alive. This also is not the first bad experience I’ve had here I’ve also have had issues with nail cutting services. Where my other dog came back to me with multiple quicks bleeding. And he is now very weary of getting his nails clipped now. Use them at your own risk. And no one will convince me to change my mind

2 weeks ago I brought my Ernie to this vet, They cleared him as being healthy with nothing at all wrong with him. They did blood work etc. That night he was sneezing up blood so I called the vet and told thm this, one of the girls that works there called me back and said the doctor said to bring him to a emergency vet. This was 10 am. So I asked if I could try an antibiotic They said ok, I mean who's the doctor here!!! 2 days later I go to give him the antibiotic his mouth is filled with blood!!! I called lap of love they came and had to put him to sleep!!! This was my boy rescued as a baby!! Beautiful! I'm still not over this it's killing me!! How could the doctor say there is nothing wrong with him 4 days later he's dead!!!! My Ernie!! If I don't get my money back I'm taking Southington veterinarian to court!
