Brought my elderly cat in and was told to take her for an ultrasound the next day....when they got back to us the next week it was to say there was nothing they could do, and that it was too late to do surgery. The next week they called and, hearing that she wouldn't take the meds.or eat suddenly decided they'd do surgery to try and drain her tumors (which they had previously said couldn't be done?), but we had to be there the next morning. After reading reviews I'm glad we said no and let her pass at home like she wanted..... although I'll always wonder if something could've been done. Keep your fur babies away from this uncaring man! (Having the surgery 20m away from the vets office is also inconvenient for everyone and extra terrifying for the animals to have to go to two new places)
I have had numerous dogs and cats taken care of by Dr Schpero for over 30 years. He is a skilled veterinarian and has provided compassionate care for my animals through the years when they were healthy and difficult times when they had health issues. I highly recommend him.
Dr Shapiro has been our family vet for over 20 years. (3 dogs, 2 cats) Him and his staff are always friendly and compassionate. They are also associated with Central Hospital, which is a plus.
He really doesn't even deserve 1 star. This man is borderline criminal the way he charges for services. He saw my dog for 4 minutes and charged $589. He literally, ran outside after my wife to demand payment. Payment was made, as we had a card on file. Poor service, ridiculous pricing!
Ive brought my dog here for years. A few things people should know. Dr schepero is a skilled vet with absolutely no bedside manner. He will shame you for not having the money for every test or treatment, and offers no options, solutions or compromises. Make no mistake money is his only priority. Do not ever ask if an appointment is available the same day, they could have the entire day open and they will charge you an urgent visit fee of an additional 100 dollars. Even if your animal is dying and a long time patient. Finally took today to write a review because of how we were treated while my dog was dying. Cold, completely unfeeling, no kindness or compassion shown toward my family by this dr or his horrible staff. His staff is the same. 30 seconds after my dog died I was holding her body sobbing and they came in demanding payment. 30 seconds after that they demanded we leave, so my dogs body could be taken away. No I'm sorry for your loss, nothing. She was my soul for 14 years and I needed to say goodbye. I was rushed into signing a form to euthanize her despite being charged an additional 85 dollars for an urgent visit. I wasn't given time to think, or process anything, I was not allowed time to say goodbye to my dog. I only wanted a few minutes after 14 years. All they cared about was getting my credit card and getting us out asap. Not one person showed an ounce of compassion. I've spent thousands trying to help my dog and he never once mentioned a single test for her supposed condition, just lots of useless blood work and x-rays that would not have helped give us answers only an MRI, which had he mentioned years ago would have prevented so much pain and suffering. He mentions the condition and the mri only as she's dying and it's too late. In conclusion I will never bring another animal to this vet. I will tell anyone who will listen do not go to this vet. I am still stunned by how cold and unfeeling this doctor is towards animals and humans alike. He did not even thank me for using him for years and bankrupting my family to use his services. He didn't care if he ever saw us again.
