The staff and veterinarian were friendly, helpful and wonderful. They show that they really care about your pet, and take time to explain how to better care for them. The environment is quaint and welcoming. This was our first visit and I will be bringing my pets here for anything they need.

I thought this was a good vet. I took my cats there. Even after I saw them mess up putting my cat down. Does still hurts me today, what I saw. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My other cat got older became very skinny. I paid over $600 for tests to find out what was wrong with her. A vet tech called me not the veterinarian and told me they couldn't diagnose her if they didn't do 200 more dollars worth a test. She did not give me any results of the tests any possible reasons why the cat so skinny. I didn't get to speak to the veterinarian. She just told me if I didn't pay for another test and they couldn't diagnose her. Later I went to a different veterinarian. I requested the records from this veterinarian and it turns out they did have results from those tests that they didn't tell me about. I stopped going here after that. I just wanted to share this to save anyone that has doubt about going here the pain that I've experienced, emotional and financial.

We had an incident with our lab yesterday around 5pm where she got into our pond and somehow managed to get a fishing lure hook (that was stuck in a log for months) in her mouth. It was clear through her tongue and in the meaty part of her cheek/gum. Our normal vet in Rockport had already closed so I called the Portland vet to see if they could help us before I made the drive to the Southside of Corpus for the animal hospital. Portland said to get there by 6pm and they would remove it. Once we arrived at 5:55pm….we were in and out in 15 minutes. They were very quick and efficient at getting her to the back and sedated so they could remove the hook! The staff was friendly and so kind for hanging around a little bit longer to help out our Lucy girl! We greatly appreciate them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a vet!
